About
Education
I am a trained Interior Designer based in Vancouver, BC, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Western Ontario, providing a strong foundation for the clear communication and detailed documentation that are integral to my design practice.
Experience
I worked in-house for two residential development companies in Vancouver before establishing my own practice in 2005. I now work primarily with private clients building custom single-family homes, predominantly in Vancouver West Side neighbourhoods.
My work focuses on developing a cohesive interior concept, selecting and specifying finishes and fixtures, and producing detailed, buildable drawing and specification packages for construction. My background in residential development also informs a practical approach to product costs, construction requirements and coordination with builders and trades.
Rather than working toward a signature aesthetic, I help each client define and expand their own vision, translating their individual style, functional needs and priorities into a clear and cohesive design.
Accountability
My reputation is built on a high level of detail, organization and communication. All design work for your project is completed by me rather than delegated to other designers, providing continuity and highly personalized service throughout the process.
I respond promptly to questions and concerns and work collaboratively with clients, builders and trades. My systematic approach helps manage the many decisions involved in a construction project, reducing overwhelm while ensuring that important details are addressed.
My goal is to make the process feel clear and manageable, so that you can make informed decisions with confidence while your builder and trades have the detailed information they need to carry the design through successfully.

Testimonials
What my clients say...
We’re really loving and enjoying our new home. Thank you for all your amazing work (and patience) in making it all possible; you’ve managed to understand what I wanted (sometimes I didn’t even know) and made it a reality. And thank you for being so incredibly nice and professional. They say the best compliment for someone’s work is to make referrals…I will definitely make (and am already making) them!
Tanya designed our new family home in Kitsilano and we could not recommend her more highly. Tanya exceeded all of our expectations at every point in this project. We felt very reassured throughout our whole project knowing that Tanya had thought about every single last detail. If we were to build another home, without hesitation we would ask Tanya to work with us again! She is thorough, organized, quick to respond and an absolute pleasure to work with.
